Attention Women’s Group presidents, retreat leaders, and mother-daughter banquet coordinators

Cindy is accepting a limited number of speaking engagements for 2010 and 2011.  For more  information, please send an e-mail to request a copy of her personal brochure with speaker background, promotional ideas, and a list of possible topics. Or see her website at www.cynthiaruchti.com

Cindy grew up in a moving van, living in a dozen different homes before she finished elementary school.  When her parents settled in southwest Wisconsin, the family put down roots and Cindy met her future husband.  At the time, he was only twelve-years-old, but quickly planted himself in her heart. They've now been married more than thirty-seven years and share their love with three children, a son-in-law, and five treasured grandchildren.

After college, Cindy worked for several years as a medical technician in a chemistry laboratory for a large clinic. When she "retired" to stay home to care for her small children, she used her last paycheck to fund a correspondence course in Christian Creative Writing, having long desired to grow in her ability to communicate through the written word.

The last lesson of her course required Cindy to write a script for a 15-minute radio broadcast.  She procrastinated for almost six months, arguing, "Lord, I live in the middle of the woods in central Wisconsin! When would I ever have a chance to write for radio?"

To say she'd finished the course, she finally dug out her assignment and mailed it in.  Within just a few weeks of receiving her certificate of completion, an opportunity was literally dropped in her lap!  (See MINISTRY BACKGROUND)

Today, Cindy dreams of additional avenues of communicating the truths of God's Word, including novels, non-fiction magazine articles, and perhaps Bible studies and discussion guides. Her first novel--THEY ALMOST ALWAYS COME HOME--releases from Abingdon Press in May 2010. THE HEART'S HARBOR appears in a Fall 2010 release from Barbour Publishing in "A Door County Christmas" novella collection. You can read more about them at www.cynthiaruchti.com

She's serving a two-year term as president of American Christian Fiction Writers and appreciates every opportunity to encourage other writers and to share the Hope that can transform lives at women's events.

She's content with a cup of tea and a good book, and has as her life goal to be a woman of God who creates an atmosphere in which those around her can become men and women of God.
