Jackie's family also moved often, enlarging her circle of friends who stretch
across the country. She and her husband met in high school in Ohio and
have now been married more than 50 years. They share their love with
three children, two sons-in-law, and five grandchildren.
After college, Jackie worked as a
registered nurse, taking time off to raise her children, then working again as
a night nurse in a convalescent home and in a large hospital caring for
patients recovering from strokes, brain injuries, and other neurological
problems.
Jackie's several corneal transplants
enhanced her compassion as a nurse and deepened her walk with the Lord. With
her rich history of leading women's, youth, and prayer groups, as well as the
editing skills she gained minoring in English in college, Jackie brought a new
and much-needed dimension when she volunteered to participate in creating
HEARTBEAT OF THE HOME broadcasts. The Lord was leading her to
minister to hurting hearts rather than
hurting bodies.
As the Lord revealed how He'd chosen
to dovetail Jackie's and Cindy's gifts, Jackie slipped into the role of
handling all the ministry correspondence. She loves to sit before her
keyboard with her Bible in hand and a healthy supply of HEARTBEAT books at her
disposal to answer listener and reader needs.
She and her husband live in an old
stone farmhouse with as much character as it has challenges. Avid bike
riders, they log hundreds of miles on country roads and bicycle trails during
Wisconsin's non-winter months.
Her reputation as a faithful prayer
warrior makes her the go-to-gal when friends and family have a need. She
spends hours poring over God's Word, knowing that it is our Source and Resource
for hope, peace, comfort, and stability. ♥
